Fabafull

In our country, the National Protein Strategy was presented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality at the end of 2019. This sets out the ambition that the Netherlands will limit the import of soy as much as possible in the coming decade and supplement it with protein-rich alternatives.

This requires leguminous plants such as the faba bean, which improve Dutch soil quality and biodiversity as a rotational crop. Unfortunately, in the Netherlands we only have a limited cultivation of faba beans compared to neighboring countries. So there is still a lot to do.

We try to do our part by using our Fabafull muffins made from locally grown faba beans as a protein-rich snack.
